OTTAWA, Ont. — The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) has tapped Elly Meister as its new vice-president of public affairs and communications.

The public relations veteran has held similar roles with the Canadian Automobile Association, Four Seasons Hotels and the Ottawa Congress Centre. She has also run her own communications company and draws on experience as a marketing professor at Algonquin College.

Meister is no stranger to the transportation industry, having served on a number of private and public sector organizations including the Transportation Table on Climate Change, the Transportation Association of Canada and the Coalition for Trade Efficient Borders.

"Elly Meister has a reputation as one of Ottawa’s most effective public affairs and communications practitioners whose talent and experience will be a significant asset to CTA," says CTA chief executive officer, David Bradley. "All of us at CTA were always impressed with Elly, having worked with her on a host of transportation issues. We’re excited she is joining the CTA team."

Meister will take over her new position Sept. 3.
