OTTAWA, Ont. — The Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council (CTHRC) is looking for volunteers to help develop an occupational standard for truck drivers.

The rationale behind the program is to help recruit, train and retain the human resources necessary to meet the requirements of the Canadian trucking industry.

The CTHRC is searching for volunteers from the motor carrier industry to review a short document that outlines necessary skills for drivers. This document was developed based on information provided by focus groups from the trucking industry. CTHRC would like to confirm that the skills identified by the focus group are those demanded of truck drivers in today’s working environment.
