Cummins Engine
Cummins has expanded its ISX engine line by way of a new 530 rating with a governed speed of 2000 rpm and peak torque at 1850 pound feet. Cummins says the new rating is designed as an alternative for ISX 500 users who want greater uprateability and increased braking performance (equal to the ISX 600). It’s also ideal for previous N14-525E+ and Cat 550 owners, the company says. With a simple calibration change, the 530 can be uprated to 600 horsepower. It’s “competitively priced” with the ISX 500 and comes with STx torque control for use with 40,000-pound axles.
