GILFORD, Ont. — The second annual David Virgoe Memorial Golf Tournament and charity fundraiser will be held at the Harbourview Golf & Country Club Sept. 27. The shotgun tee-off time is at 1 p.m. at the golf club, which is located at 1284 Shore Acres Drive in Gilford, Ont. The cost is $100 per golfer and includes a power cart, golf and lunch.

The tournament is held in honour of Virgoe, a truck driver from Innisfil, Ont., who was killed last year in an accident on Hwy 400 that involved street racers. Last year, the tournament raised $5,000 for Virgoe’s widow, Debbie, and their children. This year, funds raised will be donated to the Canadian Centre for Abuse Awareness.

Confirmation is required by Sept. 14. For more information, contact Dean Virgoe at dvirgoe@aol.com or by calling 905-393-3312 or 905-531-9877.
