TORONTO, Ont. — Trucknews.com now features an exclusive shipper/carrier roundtable focusing on key industry issues.

Video excerpts, and a full transcript of the roundtable, moderated by Transportation Media editorial director, Lou Smyrlis, is now available by selecting Decisions 2007 in the Knowledge Centre section of trucknews.com. Or, visit Decisions 2007 by clicking here.

Representing the carriers in the roundtable discussions are: Dan Einwechter, Challenger Motor Freight; Julie Tanguay, LE Walker Transport; Rob Penner, Bison Transport; and Serge Gagnon, XTL Group. On the shipper side, Bob Ballantyne of the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association and Neil McKenna of Canadian Tire Retail also participated.

Lets face it, shippers and carriers can have rather distinct points of view on certain issues. Its only natural considering they sit on opposite sides of the bargaining table, says moderator, Smyrlis. So what happens when you bring a group of prominent shippers and carriers together to discuss some tough issues? Thats what we wanted to find out in putting together our first annual Shipper-Carrier Issues Roundtable, sponsored by Shaw Tracking.
