Deere buys XATA stake

ATLANTA (Sept. 4, 2000) — John Deere will invest $3.1 million to buy a 14.8% ownership stake in XATA Corp., the largest supplier of onboard computers to the trucking industry.

The equity investment is being made by the John Deere Special Technologies Group, which offers a wide range of electronic, wireless communications, information management and Internet-related products and services.
