READING, Pa. — In an effort to prepare for the upcoming boom of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology in 2010 diesel engines, Brenntag North America recently conducted a three-week Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) sales certification program.

Ten participants attended the course, which focused on solutions for customers requiring DEF in 2010 and beyond, including equipment solutions and logistics. The participants also visited the Mack Truck Lehigh Valley manufacturing plant in Macungie, Pa.

DEF is a requirement of SCR technology and Brenntag is the largest distributor of DEF in the world, according to the company. Brenntag officials say the company has put an “expansive and efficient DEF distribution infrastructure” in place to effectively serve the growing DEF market.

Brenntag is investing in a dedicated DEF sales and marketing team that will promote the TerraCair brand of DEF and certified DEF area sales representatives are already in place across the US, Canada and Mexico, officials say.
