Delays and closures scheduled for B.C. highway

VANCOUVER — Scheduled construction related delays and closures along the Sea-to-Sky Highway from West Vancouver to Whistler will be in effect from April 21 to June 15 as part of the spring construction schedule.

The Sea-to-Sky Highway improvement project is on schedule to finish in the fall of 2009. The improvements include highway widening and straightening of passing lanes and improved sightlines. These measures aim to bolster highway safety, shorten travel times and enhance traffic flow to meet the area’s future travel needs.

Closures are tentatively scheduled for midday and after midnight during the week, and will not be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

The confirmed closure and delay schedule is posted every Friday on the Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvement Project website. The closure and delay schedule, and other traffic information, is posted at www.seatoskyimprovements.ca on the project website.
