MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Chevron is introducing its new Delo Truck to the Canadian market at a number of open houses and customer appreciation days in Ontario this summer, including a stop at the Fergus Truck Show. Known as the D-Lab, the 625hp, 18-wheel testament to innovation showcases the Delo product family in a modern, high-tech exhibit experience the D-Lab which company officials say is unlike anything else in the trucking market. Delivering the D-Lab to select destinations across North America is a 2007 Volvo VT 880.

The centerpiece of the new Delo Truck is the D-Lab, a sensory stimulating mobile exhibit designed for advanced-knowledge engineering.

Visitors enter the D-Lab where they immediately find themselves in a technology-driven reality, Chevron said in a release. While gaining clearance to the D-Lab, the visitor is greeted by a virtual host, Delola, who navigates users through their educational experience. While in the D-Lab, guests steer through interactive, educational, digital graphics, light and sound effects while learning about Delo products and key market issues.

The D-Lab takes visitors through nine different zones infused with high-tech interaction including product features that appear to orbit in space, a look at the inner workings of cutting edge technology, an on-demand Delo Theatre, a video timeline of Delo milestones and a digital pinball game. The D-Lab also features a touch screen station that informs visitors where they can buy Delo products.

The new Delo Truck is a clear departure from many of the mobile exhibits on the market today, said Nicole Fujishige, lubricants marketing manager, Chevron. When we launched the Delo Truck in the late 90s it was the first of its kind, an industry leading endeavour. Today we have once again set Delo apart from its competition by delivering an experience that goes beyond expectations, like Delo products themselves.

The Delo Truck will be making appearances in Ontario at the following dates and locations:

– July 25: Road King, 11221 Highway 50, Bolton, Ont.
– July 27 to 29: Fergus Truck Show, Center Wellington Community Sportsplex, Fergus, Ont.
– July 30: Quick Truck Lube, 1010 Industrial Road, Ayr, Ont.
– July 31: Diesel Truck Center, 2677 Drew Road, Mississauga, Ont.
– August 1: Gillis Truck Stop, Highway 11 North, New Liskeard, Ont.
– August 2: S&N Truck Quick Lube, 220 Clarence Street, Brampton, Ont.

The Delo Truck has been educating customers and the general public on the importance and proper use of heavy-duty engine oils, lubricants and coolants at truck stops, truck dealers, distributors and major trade shows since 1999. To date, the Delo Truck has visited 49 US States and has hosted more than 1 million visitors. For more information on the Delo Truck visit www.delotruck.com.
