Detroit Diesel taps Reinhardt as new CEO
DETROIT, Mich. — Detroit Diesel has announced that Carsten Reinhardt will be taking over as the company’s chief executive officer as of Apr. 1.
Reinhardt will be joining Detroit Diesel from Freightliner, where he is general manager of the company’s Portland Truck Plant. Reinhardt formerly worked as vice-president of Freightliner LLC subsidiary, Western Star, and he was instrumental in the transition of Western Star production from Kelowna to Portland.
Reinhardt will relocate to the Detroit area, and will be reporting to Dr. Gerald Weber, DaimlerChrysler senior vice-president and head of the Powersystems Business Unit. Jim Morrow will continue as Detroit Diesel president and head of operations and sales.
