Dr. J.C. Huang joins Andrew Corp.

ORLAND PARK, Ill. — J.C. Huang, Ph.D. has joined Andrew Corporation in the new role of Chief Technology and Strategy Officer.

In this position, Dr. Huang will provide overall technology leadership for the company and oversee the development of corporate strategy.

“The position of Chief Technology and Strategy Officer is new for Andrew Corporation and accelerates our efforts to provide wireless infrastructure products and services that are the most sought after in the industry,” said Ralph Faison, President and CEO, Andrew Corporation. “It also reflects our technology development approach, tightly coupling product development with marketplace needs and integrating it with our overall corporate strategy. JC’s record of accomplishment, work experience, and educational background uniquely qualifies him for this challenging role.”

Dr. Huang has more than 20 years of experience in the wireless industry, having worked as technologist, management consultant, and venture capitalist. Most recently, he was a Managing Director and General Partner of Ericsson Venture Partners. Prior to that, he was director of wireless ventures at Lucent’s New Ventures Group. In these positions, he helped create several wireless industry start-up companies. From 1996 to 1998, he was a management consultant with McKinsey providing strategic advisory services to wireless companies.

Prior to these business roles, Dr. Huang worked as a physicist and electrical engineer, researching next-generation electronic and optical components, designing digital and analog integrated circuits, and building modules and subsystems for wireless data networks. As a Principal Scientist at Raytheon’s Research Division, where he worked from 1987 to 1994, he managed several wireless technology programs and led research in radio frequency and microwave solid-state electronic devices. In his early career, he held engineering roles at Westinghouse and Alpha BA in Physics from Swarthmore College, a Ph.D. in
Applied Physics from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School.
