Eaton appoints new VP/president for heavy-duty transmission division

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Eaton Corporation has appointed Curt Hutchins to vice-president and president, heavy-duty transmission division, effective Apr. 1. Hutchins had been vice-president and general manager of Eatons clutch division.

In the three years that Curt has led the clutch division, the business has grown substantially, said James E. Sweetnam, Eaton senior vice-president and president, truck group. He led a very significant restructuring of the clutch business model during the past two years and has brought focus to key global opportunities.

Prior to his clutch position, Hutchins served as general manager of Eatons automated and fleet transmission products business unit, part of the truck groups heavy-duty transmission division. Hutchins joined Eaton in 2003 from Waterpik Technologies, where he served as vice-president of operations. Previously, he held a number of progressively responsible positions at Parker Hannifin Corporation, culminating as executive team leader and plant manager at Parker’s Abex NWL Aerospace Division.
Hutchins began his career at Textron. He holds a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Lawrence Technology University in Michigan, and a masters degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
