Eaton Moves Inside Talent to Transmission Business

John Beering will be taking on the senior vice president and general manager role Eaton’s Commercial Vehicle Transmission business.

GALESBURG, MI. — Eaton Corporation announced that John Beering has been named senior vice president and general manager for the company’s Commercial Vehicle Transmission business, effective January 1, 2013.

Beering will be reporting to Tim Sinden, president, North America Truck Operations.

Beering was vice president and general manager for Eaton’s Global Vehicle Group Aftermarket and Clutch business — a role that’ll he’ll be holding down until Eaton finds a replacement for the position.

“John’s success in key roles at Eaton along with his extensive experience in the commercial vehicle market makes him the ideal person to lead our Commercial Vehicle Transmission business,” said Sinden, adding that Beering’s talent and enthusiasm will help grow the business.

Beering started with Eaton as director of global marketing for the Eaton Truck Group in 2006. Before that, he worked at United Technologies Corporation (UTC) as director of marketing for Pratt & Whitney’s Large Commercial Engines and Service Business. He held positions of increasing responsibility with UTC at Pratt & Whitney and Carrier Corporation in manufacturing, engineering, program management and sales and marketing.

Beering earned a master’s of science from Purdue University’s Krannert Graduate School of Management, and a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University.
