Editor Peter Carter and Blog Finalist for Award

TORONTO – He hasn’t been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, but one writer for Today’s Trucking is up for a pretty sweet honor for his blog.

Editor Peter Carter and Pete’s Blog&Grill have been named a finalist in the Canadian Online Publishing Awards.

The mission of the awards is to showcase Canadian publishing talent and companies in the digital medium, according to the group.

“It’s called Pete’s Bar&Grille because we know at Today’s Trucking that you often learn some of the most important stuff  when you’re off duty,” said Carter. “You never know where the next management lesson is going to rear its head; and that when you go to business conferences; it’s in the hallways and the bars that you get the really, really important information.”

According to Carter, people in business relate well over humor.

“It’s an important bonding tool and in fact it’s in my estimation the first way people relate to each other. Watch. People love to open with jokes,” he said. “Plus, I really love my job and the audience this thing serves”

The winners will be announced on Nov. 19 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto.
