Erb Group to honor student’s community service
TORONTO — Applications for the Erb Service to Community Scholarship are now available for students headed for their first year of university or college studies, and who would like to be recognized for their community spirit and charitable involvement, the Ontario Trucking Association announced.
The scholarship, which is funded by an endowed fund managed by the OTA Education Foundation, was announced in November 2007 during the Ontario Trucking Association’s convention. It has been established to recognize one student each year who is already an asset to the community.
"We feel so strongly at Erb about the importance of community service, that it is included in our Mission Statement," says Vernon Erb, president and chairman of the board at the Erb Group of Companies. "We are looking forward to recognizing one deserving student by awarding our first Service to Community scholarship this year."
The Erb Group has enthusiastically contributed on every level to the progress and well-being of the charitable, sporting, religious and social organizations within the company’s local area.
The Service to Community Scholarship is available to any student enrolled in their first year of post-secondary studies a recognized Canadian university or college. The Erb Service to Community Scholarship application form is available at www.ontruck.org/education/foundation.php
