TORONTO, Ont. — Two OTA member companies have been singled out for special recognition in recent weeks: Erb Group and MSM Transportation.

MSM Transportation was named by Maclean’s magazine as one of the top 100 Canadian employers.

From about 51,000 candidates, editors of the 2004 edition of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, chose companies based on criteria ranging from vacations to philanthropy. Among the perks that earned MSM a place on the prestigious list were overnight retreats at Muskoka-area cottages, bonus holidays, and free trips to California.
The Erb Group of Companies was recognized as the region’s business of the year by Junior Achievement of Waterloo.
Erb president Vernon Erb, who founded Erb Transport, in 1959, is a longstanding member of the OTA Board of Directors. He received the award for outstanding corporate citizenship.
The company transported generators and food to Quebec during an ice storm in 1998, delivered clothes to the United States that were flown to war-torn Bosnia and lent refrigerated trucks to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
