Espar package heats ’07 engines ‘n fuel in winter

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Espar Heater Systems, which manufactures and supplies anti-idling technologies to the trucking industry, has announced the development of a system called Sure Start.

This package, currently available through Espar’s aftermarket dealer organization, consists of the Espar Hydronic 5 Coolant Heater and Arctic Fox “Hot Foxes.”

Espar officials said they have addressed the concerns of customers about the ability to start the new EPA-compliant engines in cold weather, given the new fuels and, in some cases, the addition of bio-diesel fuel.

The company’s solution was to engineer a system that heats both the engine and the fuel tanks, including the fuel being delivered to the engine and heaters.
