FedEx extends truckload brokerage biz to Canada

TORONTO — FedEx Truckload Brokerage, Inc., a subsidiary of FedEx Custom Critical, Inc., is now handling truckload shipments between the U.S. and Canada.

When the company launched in January 2007, it focused solely on U.S. shipments. With the addition of Canadian coverage, customers can now receive truckload solutions for select provinces, including Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta.

The full-service truckload brokerage offers brokerage solutions for regular, dry-van freight to oversized pieces requiring flatbed trailers. Additional resources can also be utilized for shipments requiring temperature control.

“Since we opened our doors last year, our customers have been asking if we could handle their shipments to and from Canada,” said John Colonna, managing director of FedEx Truckload Brokerage. “This is the reason we started the company in the first place — customers wanted a FedEx solution for their truckload shipments. So for us, the formula is simple.”

Customers who call FedEx Truckload Brokerage work directly with a logistics account manager. The account manager handles all aspects of the shipment, from initial setup to finding the right carrier and providing the final invoice. That contact then serves as the customer’s single point-of-contact for future business.

Customers throughout Canada and the U.S. can call 1-888/444-5940.
