FERGUS, Ont. — The directors of the Fergus Truck Show presented cheques totaling more than $43,000 to 25 area groups who assisted at this years event Oct. 30. The presentation brings the total raised by the Fergus Truck Show for community groups and Fergus Recreation to more than $550,000.

The groups totaled more than 900 volunteers working a combined total of more than 6,000 hours. Hundreds of non-group volunteers also worked during the weekend event.

This year was exceptional over all past years. Every year we continue to break records, said Fergus Truck Show president, Don Watson. The support of all Fergus Truck Show co-sponsors, the truck and tractor pull sponsors, the individual award sponsors, (and) the equipment and service suppliers, allows the show to grow, to promote the trucking industry and Canadian music, and assists local groups in fund raising. We truly appreciated the support of all.

This years attendance was just over 62,000 people, with 600 entrants in the show & shine competition, 237 pullers in the truck pull and 254 trade show vendors covering more than 13 acres.

The 22nd Annual Fergus Truck Show will be held July 27-29, 2007. For more information, visit www.fergustruckshow.com.
