Fergus Truck Show raised nearly half a million bucks for community

FERGUS, Ont. — The directors of one of Ontario’s most popular truck shows presented cheques totaling over $34, 000 to 25 area groups that assisted in the July 2005 event.

This brings the total raised by the Fergus Truck Show for community groups and Fergus recreation to more than $460,000.

The 2005 show drew 54,203 visitors, while the world-class show ‘n shine attracted 630 entries.

“What an event,” exclaimed President Wayne Billings. “Every year we are breaking records.”

Billings thanked the show’s organizers and sponsors, which include highwaySTAR magazine and Truck & Trailer, two of Today’s Trucking’s sister publications.

The 21st Fergus Truck Show will take place July 21-23, 2006.
