Fields on Wheels rolling again

WINNIPEG, Man. — The Transport Institute at the University of Manitoba and WESTAC have announced that the 7th annual Fields on Wheels Conference will be held Nov. 5, at the Hotel Fort Garry in Winnipeg.

A number of topics surrounding this year’s theme, ‘Containerization of Grain: An Emerging Trend or Wishful Thinking?’ will be covered at the conference.

The discussion issues include the emerging transportation and logistics requirements, the future of Canada’s agriculture industry, the competitiveness of containers for bulk and the demand for containers in the Prairie Provinces, the Prairie grain industry and the trends in international container supply and demand.

Distinguished speakers from the transportation and agriculture industries as well as government officials will be in attendance, and round table discussions will be a featured for each session’s topic.
