First web-based truck show in Jan

TORONTO — East Coast Large Cars.com will launch its newly designed web site and forum on Jan. l, 2007, and simultaneously begin accepting entries for the world’s first ever Internet-based truck show. Voters must also be ECLC members. Entries will be open for three weeks prior to judging.

The show will include multiple images of each truck and a written description. Competitors will have the option of providing a video “walk around” their truck. All rules and requirements for entry are available on the current web site and will also be found on the newly launched site.

Web site owner Richie Acosta, a truck driver based in No. Bergen, N.J., reports overwhelming response to the show’s announcement from truckers in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, as well as other countries.

There will be three classes: Combination (sponsored by Elizabeth Truck Center), Bobtail (sponsored by K & L Chrome Shop) and Straight Truck (sponsored by 4 State Trucks’ Chrome Shop Mafia). A Best of Show award will also be presented. The awards ceremony will be announced “live” on the web site.
