OTTAWA, Ont. — Natural Resources Canada’s FleetSmart Program is introducing “Fuel Management 101” — a new one-day workshop for fleet managers.

There will be no fee for the first workshop held at the OTA, Sept. 25 (all future workshops will have a fee).

The workshop was created to help fleet managers prepare fuel, implement and monitor fuel management.

The following subject matter will be covered:
*Why you should have an energy management plan;
*How to make a plan;
*How to benchmark your fleet;
*How to sell your plan to management, implement it and analyze the results.

The following questions will also be addressed:
*Why do we need a fuel management plan?
*We need a baseline of the fuel usage for our fleet. How do we do that?
*How can we make our fleet more fuel-efficient?
*How can we cut our fleet operating costs and still reduce the impact on the environment?

Fuel Management 101, a one-day workshop is designed to provide fleet managers with the tools necessary to answer these questions and walk away with many tips, ideas and a template for creating a fuel management plan for your fleet.

The workshop will be held at the OTA office at:

555 Dixon Rd.
Thursday September 25, 2003
9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A light lunch will be provided.
