TORONTO, Ont. — Forbes Hewlett is automating fuel tax reporting for its entire fleet of 110 power units.

The transportation provider recently signed a contract with mobile communications provider Cancom Tracking and Turnpike Global Technologies, provider of Canada’s first automated fuel and mileage reporting system.

George Stott, President Forbes Hewlett Transport Inc, said, “We are constantly researching methods of removing inefficiencies from our operation.”

According to Tina Stott, Director of Licensing and Permitting at Forbes Hewlett Transport, the automated fuel and mileage reporting system has already simplified the day-to-day perspective of fuel and mileage reporting.

“TurnpikeDirect has reduced the number of our internal errors by 90%. The system has allowed us to operate a paperless fuel and mileage reporting system that can be accessed from anywhere, at anytime.” Stott said.

Stott said they were able to get the new system up and running in 30 days. The system was integrated with the OmniTRACS communication system, she said.
