TORONTO, (Aug. 12, 2005) — John A. Sanderson, former vice-president of CP Trucks and long-time member of the Ontario Trucking Association Board of Directors passed away last week. He was 68.

John — who was also the recipient of the prestigious OTA Trailmobile Service to Industry Award — had been instrumental in many key lobby and community outreach initiatives that benefited the entire trucking industry, OTA says.

John was the loving and devoted husband of Margaret for 45 years, and a wonderful father to Elizabeth and Jennifer, as well as the adored grandfather of Emma and Erika Price and Julia and Jeremy Garbe.

“John had a unique sense of humour and an amazing ability to connect with people,” the OTA said in a notice to members. “He will be remembered for his playful disposition, his generosity, and his positive outlook on life.”

If desired, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
