PORT MOODY, B.C. — A Canadian Pacific (CP) Railway freight train derailed near here yesterday, causing havoc for commuters.

The derailment blocked passage of the West Coast Express passenger service, inconveniencing hundreds of passengers en route to Vancouver, however it appears there’s no serious health or fire hazards. The train was, however, carrying antifreeze, which poses an environmental risk.

CP was continuing with the cleanup efforts yesterday afternoon and passengers were being bused around the incident, which occurred between the Port Moody and Waterfront Stations.
