Freightliner appoints new chief tester

PORTLAND, Ore. — Freightliner LLC has announced Ramin Younessi will take over the reins as the company’s general manager, chief testing engineer.

Younessi will replace Jim Tipka, who is retiring from the company after 22 years, and will be responsible for all aspects of product and component testing and evaluation for Freightliner’s heavy- and medium-duty vehicles.

Previously, Younessi was director of strategic product planning and production network for DaimlerChrysler’s Commercial Vehicle Division in Germany.
