Freightliner set to replace retiring director
GAFFNEY, S.C. — Jonathan Randall has been named by Freightliner Custom Chassis Corporation (FCCC) as its new director of sales and marketing; in replacement of Dean Schaper, who is retiring at the end of June.
Randall will begin his new position June 1 and comes to FCCC from its parent company, Freightliner, where he most recently served as director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks.
Prior to joining Freightliner in November 1999, Randall held senior management positions in the transportation sales and service arena.
“Jonathan’s experience in marketing and, prior to that, in business development and service initiatives in Freightliner’s Customer Support Division-will make him an outstanding asset to FCCC as it continues to grow,” noted Jack Conlan, Freightliner’s senior vice-president of customer support. “Dean led many great initiatives and has been critical in growing and strengthening the FCCC brand across all markets.”
Schaper is retiring after 12 years as FCCC’s director of sales and marketing. He joined the company when it purchased the chassis division of Oshkosh in 1995, where he was serving in a similar capacity. During his tenure heading up FCCC’s sales and marketing efforts, Schaper helped engineer strong, continuous growth in each of its four product markets: RV, walk-in van, school bus and shuttle bus.
“We immensely appreciate the leadership and direction Dean has provided to FCCC during his time here,” said Bob Harbin, president of FCCC. “We also are looking forward to Jonathan picking up where Dean left off and ensuring the future success and vitality of Freightliner Custom Chassis.”
