SAINT JOHN, N.B. — A French radio station that Saint John francophones could call their own is $31,000 closer to becoming a reality.
The local francophone community association recently received funding from Heritage Canada, a branch of the federal government.
The grant will help with market studies to help identify what Saint John area francophones want out of French community station. The money will also help the association figure out what its technical needs are for such a station.
The Radio Saint-Jean project recently celebrated its official launch at an uptown bar, attracting about 100 people to the event.
