KOKOMO, Ind. — GE’s VeriWise trailer tracking system will begin using a new DS300 satellite transceiver manufactured by Delphi, the company has announced.

Production of the new transceiver will begin shortly, Delphi officials have announced. GE’s VeriWise is an asset tracking system designed specifically for trailers.

Delphi says its DS300 allows VeriWise customers access to two-way data sharing using the ORBCOMM low-earth orbit satellite network.

“Our customers operate in very challenging conditions for electronics,” said Thomas Konditi, general manager for GE Equipment Services’ Asset Intelligence unit. “We anticipate the automotive-grade quality and robustness of these new Delphi transceivers will satisfy our requirements and support dependable, high-volume data transmissions.”

Delphi officials say the DS300 is a robust satellite modem offering excellent functionality through sophisticated built-in applications, a built-in GPS receiver and a rugged exterior.
