Gear Centre ready for Eaton Automated Trannies

EDMONTON – – As go the heavy-duty transmissions of the world, so go the people who fix them.

With automated trannies penetrating the truck market at an astonishing rate, The Gear Centre – – based in Edmonton but with 11 outlets and 150 parts specialists and service technicians – – has announced that its staff has been factory trained and equipped with special service tools to troubleshoot and repair Eaton’s line of heavy duty automated transmissions.

The AutoSelect, AutoShift, UltraShift and UltraShift PLUS models (Generation 1, 2 and 3) can now be diagnostically tested and repaired in any of Gear Centre’s service centres throughout Alberta.

Meanwhile, the Gear Centre has also added Lipe heavy duty clutches to its product line. According to a statement from the company, Lipe clutches can hold up to 3,000 ft lbs of torque and are designed to release smoothly to prevent driveline chatter.

From humble beginnings as a small service shop in Edmonton in 1975, The Gear Centre has become a leading drivetrain parts and service provider to the heavy truck and off-highway industries.

The Gear Centre specializes in reman transmissions, differentials and transfer cases for heavy truck, automotive, transit, agricultural and industrial applications.
