MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Glasvan Great Dane has launched two new scholarships as part of the Ontario Trucking Association Education Foundation.

The annual scholarships, worth up to $800 each, will be available to students pursuing a career as truck-trailer service technicians, the company announced. Students enrolled in a traditional apprenticeship or co-op credential apprenticeship in a truck-trailer service technician program can apply.

“We are really excited about these new scholarship opportunities” says George Cobham, president of Glasvan Great Dane. “For years, we have been concerned about the low number of students entering apprenticeship programs to become truck-trailer technicians. We hope that these scholarship opportunities will encourage a few more young people to take a closer look at this great career opportunity.”

The winners will be selected by the OTA’s Education Foundation, which will also administer the program. Applications can be downloaded at: www.ontruck.org/education/foundation.php.
