GM to launch new medium-duty truck this summer

General Motors is planning to launch a new generation of conventional series medium duty trucks in June.

At the National Truck Equipment Association annual convention in Baltimore this week, GM officials disclosed that the new vehicles, in gross vehicle weight ratings from 16,000 to 61,000 pounds, will provide big improvements in maneuverability, visibility, cab comfort, safety, functionality, ride and handling.

The new medium duty trucks are designed to make General Motors a stronger player in the medium commercial truck marketplace. According to a high ranking GM official, who did not want to be identified, they “expect the trucks to be a winner in more GVW classes.”
