Going Once, Going Twice…

by Passenger Service: State troopers ride-along with truckers in crash study

Hook Up Inc., a leading supplier of driveaway transportation services, has teamed up with Taylor & Martin, one of North America’s largest truck remarketers, to launch an online truck, and equipment auction at Hookup.com.

The first auction, which is geared toward truck fleets, owner-operators, and equipment dealers, was scheduled to run from July 11 to July 13, followed by auctions every Tuesday through Thursday thereafter.

After a free online registration that asks for contact and some banking information, buyers and sellers will be able to view and display inventory that includes mostly class-8 trucks, as well as some class-6 and -7 rigs, and heavy equipment. Members will also receive software that allows them to build an online dealership within the site.

Although the best way to examine a truck is to, of course, take it for a spin, a buyer will be able to “virtually view” the truck’s condition by zooming in on everything from the cab to the mileage counter. But just in case, the purchaser has five days after the deal to inspect the truck personally. The final transaction is dependent upon the buyer’s acceptance of the truck’s condition.

Other features include a searchable database that locates dealers, trucks, job opportunities within the industry, and online moving and insurance quotes.
