OTTAWA, Ont. — The federal government will offer rebates on idle reduction technology, since the government has allocated $1.6 billion for climate change since the ratification of the Kyoto agreement.

Natural Resource Canada has managed to secure funds out of that allocation and is offering a 19 per cent(up to $350) rebate on idle reduction technology that are outfitted on trucks.

Those who wish to buy under this program will require the following: a copy of the bill of sale, make & model number, unit serial number, a copy of or original UPC, a completed copy of an application form (not yet ready), a completed questionnaire (not yet ready).

The rebate will be applicable from the date of the announcement Aug. 12th. Forms will not be ready until the end of September, so drivers wishing to take advantage of the system, must hang onto the above documentation.
