TORONTO, Ont. — Every year Grant’s Transport gives a scholarship to Timiskaming District Secondary School’s top math student who is headed to university.

This year the scholarship was awarded to Brittany Hermiston who plans on attending University of Guelph this coming September to study Biological Science.

“This is a great way to give back to our local community, and to assist a hard-working and dedicated individual with tuition and other university costs,” said Gord Grant, president of the company.

Hermiston – a dedicated student who was on multiple sports team in her school – plans on getting her Bachelor of Science and then one day opening her own veterinary practice in Northern Ontario. She is also an Ontario Scholar.

The scholarship is funded by an endowment established by Grant’s Transport and is administered by the OTA Education Foundation.
