JONESBORO, Ark. — Great Dane has recalled about 70 workers and re-opened its Jonesboro, Ark. trailer plant as demand for new van trailers continues to rebound.

The first of the SSL dry freight vans to be produced since the plant re-opened rolled off the line last week, Great Dane reports.

The Jonesboro plant will initially produce 20 trailers per week, ramping up gradually, the company says.

The plant has been idle since Oct. 22, 2009. Industry reports show dry freight van orders have experienced healthy increases following a period of historic decline.
