SAVANNAH, Ga. — Chris Adkins, senior vice-president of sales and marketing for Great Dane Trailers, has announced his resignation to pursue a career outside the trailer industry.

“Chris has made considerable contributions to Great Dane in nearly 30 years of service with the company,” said Phill Pines, chief operating officer, Great Dane Trailers. “Great Dane’s sales efforts have been outstanding with his dedication and leadership over the past several years, but we recognize and support Chris’s desire to pursue ambitions outside the industry.”

Adkins began his career at Great Dane Trailers in 1978 as a used trailer sales representative in Richmond, Va. During his tenure, he achieved personal and professional sales goals and was honoured by the company for outstanding sales for 10 consecutive years. His success led him to the role of vice-president of used trailer operations in 1998 and then was appointed senior vice-president of sales and marketing in 2003.

Management of Great Dane’s sales and marketing functions will continue to be led by the current team as administered by Jim Pines, executive vice-president; Tracey Maynor, vice-president, branch sales and operations; Chris Hammond, vice-president, dealer sales; Brandie Fuller, director, advertising and industry relations; Keith Monroe, director, platform trailer sales; and Robert O’Boyle, director, used trailer division.
