Harper Group acquires Freightliner Mid-Ontario

TORONTO, Ont. — The Harper Group, parent company of Harper Detroit Diesel and other companies, have announced the successful acquisition of the Freightliner Mid-Ontario dealership.

The Freightliner Mid-Ontario dealership acquisition by the Harper Group represents an expanded and significant diversification initiative into the Ontario commercial vehicle market which allows us to stay focused on our core strengths and reputation associated with commercial vehicle sales, service and support, said John Cosgrove, president and chief operating officer of Harper Detroit Diesel.

Freightliner Mid-Ontario, the largest Freightliner dealership in Canada, will operate under the new name of Harper Freightliner and from its three existing locations in Mississauga, Pickering and Woodbridge.

The Harper Group has also appointed former president of Freightliner Canada, Bob Cariglia, as dealer principal, general manager and equity partner of the Harper Freightliner dealership. Cariglia is the ideal candidate to lead the business to new heights given his reputable career attributes and stellar reputation in the industry, company officials said.
