FREDERICTON, N.B. — A trade mission to Atlanta, Ga. has New Brunswick Premier Bernard Lord satisfied American businesses are interested in investing in his province.

Lord met with Georgia Gov. Roy Barnes, local business leaders, as well as Canadian consular officials in an effort to boost southern American interest in New Brunswick.

“Georgia is an economy that has been diversifying, it’s been booming for the past 10 years, and the prospects have been good,” he tells local media.

“Businesses here are looking for places to expand, they’re looking for other partners around the world, and I think New Brunswick can offer that because of … the infrastructure that we have, whether it’s our ports, our roads, or also the new technology infrastructure of telecommunications.”
