Hendrickson introduces new tire maintenance system

CANTON, Ohio — Hendrickson recently introduced a new option for tire pressure maintenance.

HTIS-NG is a responsive system that taps the trailer air supply to maintain tire inflation up to a preset level.

The system also detects low tire pressure and alerts the operator with a warning light. And it responds by directing the air to the tire when the inflation dips below the pre-set level.

HTIS – NG activates only when needed — constant air pressurization to the tires is not required — thereby reducing air demand and prolonging system life.

The system allows air to travel form the supply tank through air lines inside the axle to the wheel ends. A rotary union allows air to flow from a non-rotating axle spindle to the rotating hubcap fitting. Hoses connect from a hubcap tee to the tires.

Check valves help prevent tire pressure loss back through the system. Manual fill and pressure checks may be accomplished at the hose ends.

The HTIS- NG connects all tires to the trailer air supply and may be combined with any of the wheel-end configurations and spindles available for INTRAAX and VANTRAAX.
