Highway Star of the Year to be named at ExpoCam

MONTREAL, QC – The Highway Star of the Year will be named at ExpoCam, Canada’s biggest trucking industry event, in Montreal this spring.

It is just one of several special events planned for the April 16-18 event at Montreal’s Place Bonaventure.

Nominations for the annual celebration of Canada’s top over-the-road driver can be found in the pages of Today’s Trucking magazine, as well as at the magazine’s website.

The winner of the prestigious award hits the road with $15,000 in cash and prizes, courtesy of sponsors Freightliner, Espar, Meritor, Chevron, Cummins, and the Owner-Operators Business Association of Canada (OBAC).

Deadline for entry is Feb. 15, 2015.

Presenting the Highway Star of the Year at the ExpoCam truck show has been a tradition since 2007 when Jean-Francois Foy, of Transport J.C. Germain in Neuville, QC. was named.

More than 15,000 trucking industry members and 300 exhibitors attended ExpoCam 2013… and show organizers expect even more visitors this year.

The 2015 event will feature:

  • 200,000 square feet of trucks, trailers, and other equipment and services;
  • 5,000+ parking spaces, access to two nearby subway stations and the VIA Rail train station;
  • 300+ exhibitors;
  • For the first time in Montreal, a Recruitment Pavilion, giving new and experienced drivers the chance to cherry-pick from among the many fleets out to lure new recruits. (For fleets, the pavilion is a good cure for those empty driver seat blues); and
  • Hat Day, a lively and fun-filled ExpoCam tradition in which the first 2,000 visitors to the show receive a free trucking hat, courtesy of ExpoCam exhibitors.
