Hino Motors Canada names Lorentz as president

Hino Motors Canada has appointed Mark Lorentz as president, a role he assumed Feb. 1.

Lorentz, who first joined Hino in 2004, most recently served as senior vice-president of sales and customer support since April 2022. During his tenure, he has held multiple leadership roles and played a key role in guiding the company through industry challenges, the company said in a news release.

Lorentz brings more than 20 years of experience to the new role.

In his earlier career, he has served as dealer operations manager at Nissan Motor, truck engineering specialist at Element Fleet Management, and sales manager for Mitsubishi Motor Canada and Navistar Canada.

He succeeds Eric Smith, who will transition to the role of chairman after six years as president.

Hino Motors Canada, headquartered in Mississauga, Ont., manufactures and distributes medium- and heavy-duty commercial trucks in Canada, with assembly operations in Woodstock, Ont.
