Honk for Hunger with KRTS
CALEDONIA, Ont. — Kim Richardson Transportation Specialists wants the industry to help drive hunger out of the community.
The Caledonia, Ont.-based truck-driving school is promoting “Honk for Hunger” to celebrate National Trucking Week, September 18-24, 2005. This event is held annually to spotlight the important contributions made by the 400,000 Canadian men and women who keep the country’s freight moving.
KRTS will be sponsoring a week-long “Honk for Hunger” food drive for the Caledonia & District Food Bank.
On Saturday, Sept.17 KRTS transport trucks will “honk” in and out of the streets of Caledonia, while volunteers from our local schools knock on doors collecting non-perishable food items.
On Friday, Sept. 23, K RTS will be hosting a BBQ for staff, preferred carriers, and past and present students, which also includes an open invitation to the community and media.
The school will also hand out its Preferred Carrier Truck Show Awards and a presentation to the Food Bank will follow.
