ICBC appoints new executive

VICTORIA, B.C. — The Insurance Corp. of B.C. (ICBC) has appointed Judy Maddocks as senior vice-president, insurance, where she will be responsible for commercial vehicle insurance.

Maddocks’s other responsibilities will include underwriting, competitive insurance, the Autoplan broker network and marketing.

“I am absolutely delighted that Judy has decided to join ICBC,” says Nick Geer, ICBC president and chief executive officer. “ICBC has a new vision and mission statement and a new business strategy to strengthen the business, operate competitively and be more valued by its customers…I know Judy will make a major contribution to the future of ICBC for the benefit of our customers.”

Maddocks arrives at ICBC from her post as chief executive officer and chief agent with Kemper Insurance Canada. She will formally take up her new role with ICBC Feb. 17.
