IdleAire begins reopening facilities

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Four IdleAire truckstop electrification sites have been reopened, with three more scheduled to spark back up this week.

A new consortium of investors, operating under the banner of Convoy Solutions, announced this past spring that they would recharge the struggling company.

IdleAire, which shut down its 131 locations in January, operates by installing electrical units above truck parking spaces so that trucks can get heating, air conditioning, TV and other services without having to idle.

The reopened locations are: Pilot Travel Centers in East St. Louis; Laredo, Texas; Fort Worth, Texas and the Flying J Plaza in El Paso, Texas.

This week, Love’s Travel Stops in Baytown, Texas; Pilot Travel Center in Newnan, Ga.;
and JJ’s Truck Stop in Benton, Ark. Will reopen.

The company says it plans to periodically restart about 25 sites in the near future.
