Inland Kenworth salesman wins ‘walk-around’ competition
HOUSTON, B.C. ( Feb. 11, 2005) — Link Snider, truck salesman for Inland Kenworth in Houston, B.C., recently captured the Canadian title in Kenworth’s W900L Walk-Around Sales Competition.
Snider first won his district title, then took first place at the Canadian championships in Montreal to earn a trip to the recent North American finals at Kenworth’s manufacturing plant in Renton, Wash.
Snider was among six finalists competing for the top prize in the competition, which focused on the Kenworth W900L model with 86-inch AeroCab Diamond sleeper. The finalists were honored at the awards banquet during the Kenworth Dealer Meeting.
The Kenworth contest name is coined from the fact that the salesperson and customer literally “walk around” the truck, stopping at various stations to examine key features, advantages and benefits. Dealer truck salespeople are graded based on their presentation of these elements, and effectiveness of customizing it to meet customer requirements.
In addition to Link, other Kenworth district winners in Canada were Russ Warnock, Edmonton Kenworth, Edmonton, Alta.; John Sheridan, Kenworth Barrie, Innisfil, Ont.; Rick Kader, Tandet Kenworth, Kingston, Ont.; Ian Capnerhurst, Custom Truck Sales, Saskatoon, Sask.; Franck Moquette, Kenworth Maska, La Presentation, Que.; and Jean-Pierre Beucher, Kenworth Montreal, St.-Laurent, Que.
The Canadian contest was conducted in English and French with bilingual judges.
