OTTAWA, Ont. — The inventory-to-shipment ratio decreased to 1.29 from 1.30 in January, according to Statistics Canada analysis of shipment trends.

The ratio has fluctuated from a peak of 1.33 in October to the recent low of 1.27 in December.

The inventory-to-shipment ratio is a key measure of the time, in months, that would be required to exhaust inventories if shipments were to remain at their current level.
