ITS employee’s son passes away

BELLEVILLE, Ont. — Ryan Gallaher, 36, passed away last week in Listowel Memorial Hospital after a struggle with injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident in Vietnam in June.

Gallaher’s mom Lisa Hamilton is an employee of International Truckload Services (ITS) of Belleville, Ont.

After the initial accident, Hamilton found herself traveling to Asia and ultimately incurring more than $100,000 in expenses in her efforts to retrieve her son home to Canada where he could get proper treatment.

ITS founders, the Haggarty family and many of Hamilton’s colleagues, worked tirelessly to help her raise the money.

A few owner-operators led by ITS’s James Shettell agreed to donate one cent per mile raised over a six week period and even Markel Insurance channeled money raised during one week of driver training to Hamilton’s cause.

Representatives from Markel will present Hamilton with a check this week.

There was a celebration of his life last Saturday in Wroxeter, Ont.

The staff at todaystrucking.com sends sincere condolences to Ryan’s family and friends and we also sincerely congratulate the staff and management ITS for being so supportive of their colleague.
