Regina, Sask. — John Mattern (Dispatcher 565) was recently honoured with the Dispatcher of the Year Award by the Saskatchewan Trucking Association.

John has been with Reimer Express Lines Ltd. for 31 years, as a truck driver, dock worker, lead hand and currently dispatcher. He has been in dispatch for the last 13 years.

The Saskatchewan Trucking Association recently started to honour this segment of our industry that has sometimes been overlooked.

Nominations considered candidates commitment to customer service, safety, driver well-being, courtesy, teamwork and problem-solving as well as community service and volunteer work. Ten members of the Regina Terminal staff wrote up brief letters supporting Johns nomination for Dispatcher of the Year. Letters were written by drivers, sales people, customer service staff, mechanics, the linehaul supervisor and the terminal manager. These ten people have over 278 years of service with Reimer Express. What better support could John have received?

John and his wife Roxanne have been married for 22 years, have three children and three grand children.

Congratulations John!
